The most anticipated game of the year is finally here, and it's called "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2"! This military themed first person shooter video game has been one of the most talked about titles for months, and for good reason too — there was a lot to talk about. Fans around the world have been waiting patiently while Treyarch and Activision worked on this latest installment in the popular series. The original Black Ops was well received, but gamers are expecting much more out of the sequel. More weapons, more characters, more features and most importantly, more action! What's not to love? It's safe to say that any fan of the original Black Ops will be satisfied with Black Ops 2. This is gritty military style combat at its finest. With a star studded cast led by Sam Worthington (Avatar) and Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation) gamers are in for a treat. The graphics are phenomenal, especially since this game is being played in the future! It takes place between 2065-2070 so expect some crazy futuristic tech to be utilized in this title. These futuristic weapons and futuristic machines will be a refreshing change for fans of the series. Treyarch always has a team of excellent designers that have been working diligently on Black Ops 2 to deliver a great product out to the public. I'm sure that the team at Treyarch put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into Black Ops 2 to make it as good as it is. The single player campaign is what you would expect from a Call of Duty title, lots of action packed set pieces, but it's been years since I've played through this type of storyline. This time around though I played through the full campaign myself and was extremely surprised at how entertaining it was. The storyline is different from all of the previous Call of Duty games, and this time around it takes place in the not so distant future. Instead of being a super soldier on a mission to save the world from a terrorist threat, you play as a guy named Mason who's part of a black ops team. Your job is to do the dirty work that the government can't be seen doing themselves. Assassinations, hacking into secure servers, etc… One thing that struck me as odd was that there was no multiplayer beta for Black Ops 2 like there was for Modern Warfare 3. This is pretty odd for two reasons. First of all, the multiplayer is generally better than the single player campaign, and 2nd, if you're an Activision or Treyarch employee then you would want to be able to play it first right? Apparently they didn't feel the need to give the community a beta because they knew that they had a great product on their hands with Black Ops 2. If this was a slapdash hack job then I'm sure Activision would have had a beta. Thankfully for us, it's not. Everything from graphics, controls and sounds are all top notch! The single player campaign is usually what separates the good from the bad in most video games these days. cfa1e77820
